Description

Another oldie moldy one. We lived in The Dalles Oregon 20 years ago. A great place to live, 100miles west and you were at the beach, 40 miles east and you're in the desert. Just a short drive from Mt Hood and the forest. It sets on the Columbia River in the Gorge. Just across from Washington St. On Sundays we liked to get up and go for drives, that was our intertainment. Back then it was cheap:) We would drive for 200miles with out even thinking about it. We found all these old houses and one room school houses, out on the Steppes. I'd like to go back someday and see if they are still standing. Thanks for all your comments on my journey back in time. Take care:0)bonita

Was the scratch in the middle done by post work to give it that "old feel"? Either way, great B&w mood and texture.

Nice, I like your title.. I grew up in the town, Simi Valley, CA. where they use to film this series. I believe part of the set is still standing out there below the hills.

Judging by the looks of this one, I'd be very surprised if it was standing 5 years after you took the photo. Very nice shot, Bonita.

Re: Cosine ^^^ Shoot - I'd be surprised if it was standing five MINUTES after you took the photo! This looks like a stiff breeze would knock it right over. Awesome capture. That area looks so barren to my NW eye, but it's great in b&w.

Wonderfully sad and neglected! I thought the same thing as several before me, I doubt it's standing today!
