My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Beyond the blue horizon... You talking to me? Are you talking to me? Yes, dear friend, I feel your pain. You can add health, politics, pollution, climate change, homeland security, neighborhood gangs, death and taxes, among other things I can't think of at the moment, to your list, my dear. In any case, I see you've hopped on the writer's express, along with beachzz, to wax eloquently in the arena of feelings and soul searching. A most noble undertaking, indeed.

This is so touching and I hope your friend can see and feel the love that is contained in these words. This really came from your heart, and touched mine.

very deep and emotional words Tara, I have been there once or twice myself, not a good place to be. many people do not understand this feeling and those that suffer it hide it well out of fear of being rejected, i hope your words help your friend

Powerful words, Tara........So evocative, as we've all been there, I expect. This is excellent writing, and well illustrated.

Tara this is beautiful..your words are so touching..I've been there and done that..a very lonly, lost place to be, the light seems to be so far away and out of reach, but with the help of ones who love us it gets closer and closer..one day at a time..Lol..K

Off the track and almost impossible to pull yourself back to track again. yeah i have tried that, but one summy day, you will be strong enaugh to do it. Maybe already tomorrow, maybe not so soon, but usually you will be able to pull your self back on track again and can go on. I hope the person will find strength very soon. Very touching words, dear Tara.

I can relate to this, been there on the way back still, and the love and understanding sure help a lot. All that rotten putrid mess that pulls you down, feels like you are swimming in quicksand, takes your breath away, leaves you trembling with fear, cold, unwanted, useless, can't do anything right. Fantastic profound prose Tara, it says it all so eloquently. Has to be a fav, it fits me to a T, and a lot more people that I know. Superb piece of prose. Bravo!!!!!

Beautifully written account of empathy in action, with all the insight and tenderness which you expect. Blue indeed, but full of hope nevertheless. Mike

WE all get this way. Perfectly worded.
Chipka
Oooh, how perfectly said! It's much longer than a haiku but it reminds me of one in so many ways...It's the emotional clincher that comes at the end...that one sentence punctuation. Oh, and how true all of it is, how succinct! It's also elegantly written and rendered all the more profound for its elegance. As for the image, I love it. Great stuff and I hope to see/read more!

Beautiful work...

I'm glad you took the time to post this Tara, it rings true for us all from one time or another. Within those words is a hidden strength. I went back to read it two or three times!

Lovely image.... and love your poem- strangely enough there's actually a website called Beyond Blue,(http://www.beyondblue.org) an Australian national Depression Initiative. It's a small world :)

What a beautiful, emotional and heart breaking poem. Wonderful imagery, one recognizes the universal truth of your words in an instant. We've all been there, but not many have described it so elegant as you did...
