You all know that I've been trying to model Jessica Alba/Dark Angel. The problem I'm running into now is textures. I don't want to use someone else's (as great as they are -damn it). I know how it's done, but I'm feeling a bit intimidated. I thought I was "over the hump" after making the morph. Can anybody offer any advice, tips, or tricks when it comes to making textures?
The "Max Angel" character/morph is from me.
The skin texture is from Handspan Studios & Thorne (manipulated by me)
The hair is Wild hair (available at RDNA)
The ear rings are from Stegy (in the free section -also manipulated)
The clothes are "Shadow Dancer" (from Daz3d)
The necklace (I can't remember where I got it, but it's not mine)

Have you made textures before? A merchant resource kit may be one place to start. Just be sure to read the license/readme for what you can and can't do with the end results. btw, the morph looks pretty good. Much more recognizable now than the earlier renders I stumbled across.

WOW!!! Looks like you've got her down. Very well done and fun to watch the progression. Sorry I can't help with the textures, newb here... LOL

That looks pretty good work! Hope you find the texture you want...

I love the textures that I have now, but I can't release the model if the textures aren't mine.

I am really hoping that you can find a texture resource that'll work -- your Jess morph is outstanding! The merchant resource is a great idea -- plus -- if the Thorne/handspan texture you've tweaked out is really working for you -- why not contact the creator -- we're a pretty tight community and they might be able to work something out with you :D

http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?vendor=levius this vendor here he is the best in textures, and you can view the read me file for all his high resolution photos, the skin shots are amazing, take a look he also includes where he sells other textures online, cannot think of the name but most of the top vendors buy from there. And you are correct why use someone else's when you can make you own, try this guy you will not be disappointed.

So many of the 'celeb look alike' characters have the texture from photos of their namesakes but the hard part is getting the face and body morphs right. It looks to me like you have the hard part done already. I can't wait to see your finished product.

That is a really beautiful morph! Awesome job! Photos from 3d.sk is always a good place to start. I make skin texture for all sorts of models and when I can't find what I need from my personal stock of photos, 3d.sk has some really nice detailed photos ;-)
