Description

Shot through the panes of a closed and now disappeared shop! Today, 30th birthday of the death of Claude François! Claude disappeared accidentally on 11 March 1978 and rests in Dannemois, small village located at twenty kilometers of my home. I besides often "will visit him" and benefits from this splendid village where the mill was which belonged to him to make fotos of this very pretty corner of countryside! It's a statue raised up as a tribute by his fans. I often spend some time in front of his grave because I love so much this village and I also keep in mind so wonderfull memories of my young girl's dreams that was living day to day with "Clo-Clo" songs ! May I tell you now, my musical tastes had drastically changed. 1967. This year, Claude François leaves its first album with the house disc which it has just created, with the ambitious title: Arrow. And on this album, the title headlight bears the name of "Comme d'habitude". Paul Anka falls in love with the song and the writing in English: it becomes "My Way", interpreted by Frank Sinatra. Claude François is then insane of joy: Frank Sinatra is its idol, it will entrust:" for me, it was the most beautiful tribute which can exist"! The English text is neither a translation, nor an adaptation of the original text. The French version is a unhappy love affair... Claude François took as a starting point his rupture with France Gall (French singer) ........ I remember the great time in the 70s. A big group of French lyceum students came here to learn Russian. They played Claud's music a lot 'Blanche Caravelle", was it his? It was a wonderful time. Thank you for the reminder.

the composition is monumental, even though it's just a store-front. (I was a musician many years in the States, and knew his music fairly well; and was aware he was beloved in France...) Your focus increases as you move down the shot, not up (!), and that draws us into a plunge---as if we were looking down the facade of a high-rise. And you've made it look as if we're viewing him through the 'bars of time': a very creative vision...
