Description

I really feel for my family they have had so much of this ()*(*&(*^&$^$ white stuff they are fed up.people who do not have this problem ( like me in California) have no idea how hard this is to live with it can cause damage to properties, people who have to get out everyday and shovel thier way out can have heart attacks as it is not easy for the older people: just getting groceries,go to work etc etc is a chore : so hang on there siblings and the rest of you it should soon be a memory of the past take care and be safe and warm: love to all::

My snow pile is about seven feet high out on my front lawn. Apparently, this is the worst season for snow since about 1939 in the Southern Ontario area (Toronto and surroundings).

This is interesting and unique Evie. An outstanding capture. The lighting is perfect. Really farout image. I lived in Utah 17 years before coming here, with a car parked in front of my Home. The plows covered my car, and I was digging out all the time, to get to work and shopping. I have lived that Hell. It will soon end for them, I hope. Huggs... Silkylady...

I was born in Watertown,NY...32 mi from the Canadian border. I remember opening the door and seeing nothing but snow covering the entire doorway from top to bottom. We had ropes that went from the house to the shed and to one of the trees in the front and back yard. Now if I were a kid I'd be looking at those piles of snow thinking "cool..igloos!" We used to make igloo's from the piles of snow and have tunnels going from one house to another. Now as an adult, well..yes it is a pain, but still love to go out there and shovel and make snow sculptures. LOL I do hope that dispite the heavy snow your family is safe and warm. It does go away eventually....but sure looks like there is going to be some flooding. Spring is on its way... Great pictures! ~Michelle~

Every place has it's dragons. Satan isn't always a human interest story. To really understand snow you need to drive through Sonora Pass in August when it first opens and see the depth the rotary cut through. Four wheel drive is just a silly notion. I have met those guys angry that something makes their wheels spin. They insist no one could be where I am. It's just life's fullness as met by man's ingenuity.

The worst storm was in 1971 when snow mobiles were driving over the top of cars parked on streets. The cars had nearly two feet of snow on top of them (incredible) Yesterday a young fellow I talked to told me his parents and guys my age told him about the 1971 storm but he never really belived them until now. Well he now has something to tell his kids down the road. I have snow on both sides of my drive way nearly 29 feet high. I just don't know where to put it now it's so high. I have one hope, and that is that it doesn't melt to quickly because we are in for major floods ! OH by the way it's snowing again today ! One hell of a mess ! George

Oh Evie...I do sympathize as I have lived this in Syracuse for years. We receive more snowfall that any other large city in the U.S.!!!! We get hammered in two ways, with lake effect and nor'easter's. We get about 115 inches on average but of course that will vary..and we will get MORE!!! The other day we had lake effect and the flakes were a little bigger than a half dollar and it was thundering and lightening also. Hope all is well with your Mom in law and thanks for the pic...you should see the view from my window..nothing but white ...LOL!

Cold capture Evie. I remember as a kid my mom getting stressed about the snow. One winter they asked everyone to park on the EVEN numbered side of the street so the plows could get through. The next week they asked everyone to park on the ODD numbered side of the street. The following week Mom missed the news parking announcement and got all stressed out. So Dad told her to just leave the car in the garage that day. (lol) Best wishes and hope it warms up for everyone slowly. (too fast=floods) Bravo and hugs from from Dave :^)

I've only had it this bad once or twice in the twenty something years I've been here in NY, so I do know how they have to feel Evie, it's a nightmare. But and I know some would chuckle, it's so beautiful when it begins to fall... there's a certain serenity that comes with the first fall. After that it's surely #@$$@##%%^^ :)
