Description

I put two Mea magnetos in tandem for the eight cylinders though with a 180 degree crank it wouldn't need eight separate poles for firing order. The Hispano-Suiza later built by Wright and Martin had such a crank which was occasionally fitted to flathead V-8s for racing in later years. Not all V-8's have 90 degree separtated crank throws. It still might need two magnetos for sufficient spark current so I have kept the idea here. If you look at teh Curtiss built early aircraft V-8's you will see that although some writers describe them as just motorcycle V-twins coupled together they don't have the 45 degree cylinder to cylinder of typical motorcycle v-twins. They look to have 90 degrees or even in the case of the LSR motorcycle 135 degrees as was used in the W Napier Lion later with a third row in the center. Now, the Liberty V-8 (and 12) did have 45 degrees between engine banks and might have confused the issue as seen in hind sight. The LSR motorcycle definitely does not have an OX-5 as some reporters have reported. Whether it is similar to an OX-2 would require a lot more information on that configuration then I have. Victoria is going one up on the Stinson sisters depicted in a Model B and going for the full Baby Grand low aspect ratio look. It isn't a clipped wing in the sense of Griffon Spitfires of WW-II that left off the outer elliptical panel.

One would think that that motor would shake the plane to piece or at least come unhinged fairly quickly. Quite the construction.

Being the sons of a minister, I bet Orville and Wilbur Wright never imagined a pilot like this flying one of their machines! Great Poser work...you're most talented.
