Description

Some friends invited me to go flyin' on my last trip back to Texas. Well you don't have to ask me twice! There are a number of "firsts" here. It's the first time I've posted a digital pic. (I was just using a pocket camera. Gotta learn to walk before I run.) It's also my first attempt at photos from the air. Here's a view of final approach at the Brazoria County Airport from the copilot's seat.

Fantastic Image! I have only piloted an aircraft once and this has brought back wonderful memories (and nerves, even though I didn't pilot the landing! LOL!) 5++

Stevey, I know what you mean. It has been years since I had the yoke in my hands and my feet on rudder pedals. Fortunately my pilot Sally did all the tough stuff, but I had great time flying straight and level and making easy compass heading turns.

You are lined up on final very well. Now if you can figure out the compass magnetic deviation for your position the 35 becomes 350 on the card and can be used in darkness and badweather. Don't look in a book just read it off that wobbling thing ahead of you.

@tallpindo: 353 degrees actually, and I do fly by that wobbly little thing. My pilot chided me at one point for paying too much attention to instruments! Old habits I suppose.

Sure takes me back, bud; saw a heck of an airshow down there in the late 1980s, with lots of sunshine and beer! Good one!!

I love the small planes.I have went up 3 times and enjoyed immensely. excellent capture.I plan on going up again and maybe can find one set up for parachuting and I will be able to have a large door to shoot out of, and of couse a very strong strasp to hold me in
