Description
Awakening ( For Kelvin Hughes ) This is for my dear friend Kelvin Hughes who has gone through a lot lately and thank God is back with us once more. Kelvin is one of the kindest and most caring people you'd ever want to meet. He is always bringing smiles to so many people and never wants anyone to worry over him. If you look in his amazing gallery you will see that he is incredible at so many styles of art and can touch your soul through his art. My personal favorites are the outdoor scenes he does that feature wildlife. Kelvin has a way of making the animals in his images come alive and he has a gift for bringing out their natural beauty. When Kelvin had a stroke and was in a coma I know so many of us were devastated. I prayed I wrote, and probably drove his family crazy with my emails. The other day when I saw a message from Kelvin I got so excited and it thrilled my heart to read a message from my dear friend once more. He doesn't know I'm doing this but it is the vision I had that night in my head. Welcome back Kelvin
Awakening ( For Kelvin Hughes ) As I laid there this image stuck in my mind. The moment that Kelvin wakes from his long sleep at the hospital and there are the animals that he loves so much there waiting. It is as if they have been standing guard over their fallen friend, never giving up and wanting him to wake and come back to them. The boy and girl coming in the room at this magical moment represent the men and women here at Renderosity who are friends with Kelvin. All I wanted to do was capture this beautiful moment so I could express to him how I felt when I learned he was awake. Yeah, I may be a bit silly and crazy to come up with this stuff but I am just trying to share with my friends what is in my heart. Please take care all of you

What a wonderful image, so full of good feelings! Each little creature seems to bring his or her own brand of joy to the scene. What a complex scene to set up! And I am happy about the good news of Kelvin!

I gonna try to save myself as I go through you gallery 'cause I'm gonna want to comment on probably all of them and it's almost 12 pm. Damn outstanding gallery the art prevocates(sp?) emotion and fills in the little details where your not even looking, if that makes sence. I'm am impressed!

Dave............ just discovered this masterpiece today 7-15-08.........have deeply loved Kelvin's magnificent work............I think, soon after he started appearing on Renderosity. He replied to my comments on various works of his. 'Never forget the one, ''you're the only one who got it'' (re a lone buffalo....a most wonderful and moving painting). Over time he has written me notes; as when the wheels fell off my life (didn't say so, he sensed it)......... He made a wonderful, beloved and so beautiful UNICORN just for me. When computer blew-up, it was lost, and he made me another incredible UNICORN......... 'Feel like he is family, a unique, huge-hearted, sensitive, talented beyond belief artist, pure kindness and mirth, and a gentleman of the FIRST rank. [By the way, there IS a God]; another cpu engineer fixing the plastic scroundrel, FOUND the first unicorn.........I cried. Made a Christmas card to him........small unicorn in unending snow........''alone at Christmas'' and he sent note saying, no one is alone at Christmas, I'll be home all day......contact me. See what I mean, he makes time for everyone and anyone, with a life already so full of riches, talents, friends & family. Now........one is NOT supposed to write a letter to a stranger HERE. I know, but today, in response to 2 postings of Kelvin's, went to R. only to find ''someone has removed this''.............went back to full e-mail pages, to look at several, unerased prior postings.........had downloaded them yesterday! In every case, same reply, searched ''artists'' ''no one by that name exists''. WELL, THAT'S NOT TRUE!!!!! Wrote letter to an R. admin. In desperation, went to Google......searched his name, found you, back to R., found you,..........and remembered your face and all the wonderful things you said to Kelvin in comments on his work. Ashamed at the length of this.....forgive me. WHAT HAS HAPPENED to all the incredible works of this artist par excellence; and PLEASE, if you know, is he OK. Got a note from him that surgery went fine.........all benign, asking my comments on his new animation on YouTube. Then this, today. Dear Magus703 (Dave).......I am unicorn1776@mybluelight.com if you have time, please tell me what has happened. P.S. THE AWAKENING, IS MARVELOUS........PERFECT FOR KELVIN.......took the liberty of downloading copy this masterpiece for myself......will treasure it always........and frame it for my studio. IT IS KELVIN.

I love this! My idea of what a true healing center would look like, too. : ) Great job and a lovely dedication for your friend. I wish real hospitals were set up like this. Great posing and I even like that little postcard. Nice touch.

Very thoughtful gift, Dave, and not at all silly! Wonderful composition and execution! I love all the individual animals! I've very often seen squirrels in that inquisitive stretched out pose. I love the little bird by the window (looks like a sparrow) and its shadow! The poses of the children are wonderful! The two boys are casually waving, pretending nonchalance, while the girl looks ready to give someone a big hug, though whether it is Kelvin or the fawn is not determined. I like Kelvin's hand on the fawn. Beautiful narrative and wonderfully symbolic image of the loving community at RR. Very nicely done!

Wonderful render and illustration, Dave. It must be strange and scary, to wake up after a coma. Prolly important to have a safe feeling, someone you know, or something that makes you feel safe, in the middle of the confusion. A fine piece and thought for Kelvin Hughes. His VUE renders are truely amazing.
