Description
Seems like everyone who dabbles in 3D does the obligatory "pool ball lighting/reflection" render. So I thought, why not? Made entirely in Cheetah 3D.

This is impressive lighting and reflections. Been wonndering what Cheetah's like - looking for a good easy (relatively cheap) 3d model app.

That looks great, especially the felt. The specular highlights dead center on the balls are a little of a weak point though; imo since you have proper reflection on the balls anyway you might consider turning off specular completely, or at least disabling specular for that front light if your renderer can do that. The worn look on the cue ball looks particularly good (so good it makes the other balls look too perfect).

This is kinda creepy - just last night, as I lay in bed, I thought, I should do a billiard ball image. I can only hope that mine looks as nice as yours turned out. I like the use of DoF, and the texture of the fabric came out quite nice.

Yeah, the felt is actual pool table felt, a texture I found online (and had to tile it). And piz99, I cloned out the specular highlights on my original render and it does look better. I figured the cue ball needed to be roughed up a little more cause it's the ball that gets beat up the most, and knocked off the table, etc. I just pretend the other balls are new!
