Description

This tiny daisy-like flower was growing behind my work place. A bunch of these are showing their beauty in miniature size. The flower, petal tip to petal tip is about 3mm. You must get on your knees to see these and the violet looking other ones in the same patch. They are like large flowers but so very tiny. Windy day, tried to get a decent shot knowing dof will be limited: Nikon D70, Sigma 50mm macro, f/8, ISO 400, 1/500sec.

Beauty comes in all sizes. Sometime the smallest is the most beautiful, just as sometime the simplist is the most stylish. A tender shot for sure.

difficult at this size... nice composition and dof / colour to make the flowers pop out of the background :)

It's always the tiniest things that offer the most unexpected and complex beauty! You've captured that amazingly here, the details of the blooms themselves are amazingly crisp, right down to the pollen grains. The colors are fantastic and the DOF is spot on. In a sense, this image reminds me of the essence of a traditional haiku; there's a definite visual element to this that evokes a range of emotional responses. And it does so with simple elegance. I have to say that this is an absolutely superb image.
