Our Time Traveler Volume 1 set includes four different time machines and four different versions of the time traveler's laboratory. This is the second time machine, from 1926. It combines a sort of Model T car with an upgraded version of the time machine "engine" - new controls, etc. In this, the back seat is gone, and the engine reconfigured to take up the space - two cables go to the front and interface with the dashboard. What you are seeing here is the temporal energy collector node (one of two), set on a gold stand. Snaking off below are cables connecting it to the large purple jewel that powered the original time machine. Its not an essential pic - I just liked the way the reflections turned out :-) The story behind this is that the time traveller thought to make his creation more flexible and durable. After hitting on the idea of putting it into a car - he trekked on some adventures in time. However, after one trip to the future - he suddenly decided to scrap the design. What could he have seen that made him change his mind? :-) This was designed using Max 8, and rendered in Vue 5.
