Description

Photo by me, effects by Alex... A continuation of our trying to bring awareness and focus to what ultimately effects our children's, children's children. Some of the facts: 1 Evidence is overwhelming and undeniable. We are already seeing changes. Glaciers melting, plants and animals being forced from their habitat, the number of severe storms and droughts increasing. The number of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years. 2 Malaria has spread to higher altitudes in places like the Colombian Andes, 7,000 feet above sea level. 3 The flow of ice from glaciers in Greenland has more than doubled over the past decade. 4 At least 279 species of plants and animals already responding to global warming, moving closer to the poles. 5 If warming continues, we can expect catastrophic consequences.Deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years -- to 300,000 people a year. 6 Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas worldwide. 7 Heat waves will be more frequent and more intense. Droughts and wildfires will occur more often. The Arctic Ocean could be ice free in summer by 2050. 8 More than a million species worldwide could be driven to extinction by 2050. 9 We can solve this problem. We have a moral obligation to do so. Small changes to our daily routine can add up to big differences in helping to stop global warming. The time to come together to solve this problem is now!! http://www.worldviewofglobalwarming.org/ http://www.climatecrisis.net/takeaction/carboncalculator/ And 'we the people' are not the only ones who need to make changes! 'In this paper we show that appropriate application of weather-modification can provide battlespace dominance to a degree never before imagined. In the future, such operations will enhance air and space superiority and provide new options for battlespace shaping and battlespace awareness.' 1 “The technology is there, waiting for us to pull it all together;” 2 "in 2025 we can “Own the Weather.” http://csat.au.af.mil/2025/volume3/vol3ch15.pdf http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military_law/1281146.html 'Reader Comment RE: Modern Battles Will Be Won By Controlling The Weather AS A SYSTEMS ANALYST FOR NORAD (OLD BLOCK HOUSE). IT'S COMING SOONER THAN ONE THINKS. WE WILL BE WELL PAST WEATHER CONTROL BY 2025. THE GREAT LAKES REGION IS THE TESTING GROUNDS AS OF LATE. BECAUSE OF IT'S MANY WEATHER SYSTEMS.' If what you read makes you uncomfortable and makes you think, it should...Please note, I have no political affiliation, I have only a mind of my own and art as a venue to express my concerns. Thanks for looking and for previous comments!

Excellent message! People have been saying it for over twenty years though... all that time wasted... what will another twenty bring?

Thank You my friend! They say to look at the past to see the future...so our future according to that is pretty bleak I think! I try not to be too harsh in my need to get people to see but I have to present it even if I do offend, never my intent to offend, instead to educate and I hope I am able to at least get someone to read...thank you for doing so!

This image really speaks. The only thing ( and I have said this a zillion times on other renders here), is that I truly don't think global warming is our fault. I think being sensible is the best way to be. Don't litter, recycle...etc. And I am one that should be complaining too, my monthly electric bills are over $700...A MONTH. I agree something must be done, but to lessen out impact, we cannot change an ecosystem. In any case, your art is awesome as per normal! ;) -chachi

I do agree that it is not our fault, not entirely anyway, what is our 'fault' is ignoring what we can each do to make it better...we do contribute to it and that is the real message here. If we do our part to think and act 'green' we can at least slow the process..we know our illustrious gov is going to do nothing on a major scale so its up to us the little people to at least try, try, try to make a change and instill those 'green' ways in our children...for their sake! In the last 100 years or so, we have produced more heat per day from our daily needs than at any other time in the previous history of mankind. Today, it has been calculated that our total daily consumption of energy is approximately 95 quadrillion BTU. Since the approximate weight of the earth's total atmosphere is close to 5 quadrillion metric tons, does it take a rocket scientist to extrapolate over time the effects this could have on the total change in temperature accrued since the time of the great industrial revolution ?

And yes, money does move our world but it seems to me that our money could be spent on wiser purchases and we can recycle more than we are. And simply pick up trash laying around and educate those who don't see what they are doing so that they understand they can have a positive effect on our world...that doesn't cost money, only a little time...Thanks to all of you for your comments, I truly appreciate you taking the time to read and add your voice (either way) to this issue!

small changes can make a big difference , tim and i have been steadily changing our light bulbs out from the old to the new ones and have already noticed about a $50 dollar a month decrease in electric bill, recycling doesnt take any effort! and i think next we're going to make a compost heap, ....any way i applaud your efforts and people need these reminders in their face...we so easily become apathetic...and on this front we cant afford to be that way!!! LEAVE THE CAMPGROUND CLEANER THAN YOU FOUND IT!!

Our function may be that of a virus. Destroying this cell, our host. But we differ because we can choose. Or choose not to choose. This piece is in my opinion your best. Cool on so many levels. Like a micro-bio-sphere! Well done!
