Description

The old abandoned Fluid X gas station. Guess people weren´t to keen on using their high octane biohazardous fuel. :) Cinema4D & Maxwell for the foreground structure, Bryce 5.5 for the city in the back & in normal order, Photoshop for the postwork. Hope you enjoy. A wip thread for this one can be found here.

This artist right here is my entire motivation for learning C4D. His scifi environment work is second to none, as you can see, and I hope one day to reach a level where we can do an image together. Five stars, instant fave, and drool.

I really like the No Smoking signs--and the fact that everything has a purpose--the ramps for docking the vehicles, the fuel containers and the hoses, the fans to pull in fumes and the fans to disperse them, the advertising, even the boxes left over from the peripheral sales of "oil" and wipers;-) Such lovely textures and smoggy atmo, too!

Cool image. Not your best work, maybe. There's so little color here but that's not what bothers me; usually your stuff just jumps right out of the screen whereas this one feels flat and a little boring to me. Sure there's lots of detail and pipes and things like always but not much for the eye to attach to and focus on except maybe for those little cardboard boxes. Some birds in the sky, a figure leaning on the rails to the left of the frame, more detailed textures on the buildings, a little volumetric atmosphere or even just a tad more contrast in the lighting... a figure in particular would look great here, or maybe something like plant leaves sticking out of the cardboard box, what do you think? Just some ideas, despite all this criticism looks awesome like always and you have my admiration for all that patience and talent.

I was thinking that your influence was beginning to have an effect on my art work as I'm starting to like my own work more... then you go and post this. I guess it'll take a few hundreds of years yet before I'm anywhere close to the excellence of this. Fantastic work, Rudy.
