The one thing that doesn't work for me is the lightness, particularly the way that the ceiling diminishes into dim, blue light like a morning fog. This gives the impression that although you have descended into the realms of the damned, still there is the hope and strength of the world of the living above. To me, the archetypal hell is one of darkness - darkness so deep that there is no rising from the despair hemming you in - an unfathomable, all-conquering darkness that convinces you that it is in itself the only reality. So dark that in fact you lose all remembrance of the light.
