Description

Seeing this animal profile, captured at Blijdorp, Rotterdam, my first reference was the Egyptian heroglyphs, so I removed the messy background and filled it with a real ancient relief. Could'nt find the name (looking trough a viewfinder you hardly see any names of the animal) so, like stuart83 did with the brolga, I hope you can help me find out. take care, enjoy nature, its worthed.

Bongo, from Central/East Africa (it had white stripes on it's back ?). it is an antelope of dense forest, so it probably never saw Egypt, though it is possible that one might have turned up as a gift to a Pharoh.

Thanks wingnut55, you're right. Its a Bongo, The eastern/mountain bongo’s survival in the wild is dependent on more effective protection of the surviving remnant populations in Kenya. If this does not occur, if will eventually become extinct in the wild. We learn something here to, be good. RS
