Very cool looking, though I confess I don't understand why her head is blacked out. Is there other black fog obscuring the face and I'm just not seeing it?

No. That's her hair, there wasn't great lighting for her face/head area and I was tired of trying to make it work I spent a lot more time on this one than should have been necessary. ^_^
