Love Me or Let Me Be Lonely, by the Friends of Distinction, was a very memorable song from my youth. I suspect he's influenced more funk, jazz and rock bass guitarists than any other bass player. For instance, Van Mc Coy (the writer of, Do the Hustle with the Stylistics) died some time ago. Bob is still with us gladly, (in fact I get emails with his name added at least twice a week) it is just that so many people whose music I grew up around, have sadly left us.
