Description

As some of you know, I was attacked by another artist...and as most of you know, I welcome both negative and positive comments....I always have and probably always will....what hurt me in this instance the most was that this person cursed me and the wording he used was uncalled for....it made me question myself, whether my art is good enough to post on Renderosity...among other questions...so I went to a few of my friends and I asked thier honest opinions...all that I asked gladly replied and gave their honest opinions as I asked them to....I had thought about closing my gallery, I had even went so far as considering deleting Bryce....but after reading the replies from those few friends I asked myself this..."Why should I destroy my gallery and all the work I've put into it? Why should I allow this person to get to me?" His comment came at a very low time in my life...the past few months have been very, very hard and it's gotten to the point where I spend a lot of time talking to God....I feel ashamed because I haven't been able to keep up with my comments as I used to do but I am thankful for friends as each of you have been that stand by me even though I can't get to you as I used to....Maybe because I was already feeling "down" when I recieved that comment is one reason I took it so badly....I'm not sure but Renderosity was so very helpful in removing it from my site and I thank them so much....but I thank each and everyone of you for being the best friends anyone could ever hope for...a special thanks goes out to the following people....magnus(Dave), photostar(Keith), Kelvin Hughes, Dennis Reed, David OBlad, e-brink(Peter), and Chipka(Chip)....thank you from the bottom of my heart....I love each and everyone of you that visit my gallery and take the time to comment but mostly for being my friend... God Bless and Blessed Be.

I hope you are doing better and I love this one you created!!! the fog is super cool here! and the water is lovely in this scene!!! have a nice night and take care Marlene. Hugssssss

Your artwork is definitely worthy of showing here at Renderosity. Don't let one person get you down. Now matter what any of us do, there is always some idiot who will try to upset the applecart. Hang in there, Gal!

I´m sorry to read that you had problemes with another artist here in town. From my point of view, each image is it worth to post on ReRo or another gallery on the web. Sure the display of art is a of personal matter of taste, but nobody must see a gallery if someone don´t like the images. It´s really nonsense to attack an artist. Just the ex-champions of painting have had so different styles and nobody like all of their works. So by sample, if you don´t like Rubens, you certaily will not visit an exposition of Rubens images. You certainly don´t go into the museum to cry for Dali images becourse Rubens is so awful. So I think it´s the same here. If someone don´t like the art of an special artist, so he or she don´t have to see this images. Go on with your images and have fun with your hobby! I always enjoy to see it!!

I nearly deleted my gallery the other day I was so depressed... that's art! Rendo is great overall. Not perfect, but very friendly and on balance a great experience for up and coming artists and professionals... if they want to take part. There is hardly any elitism here, in my view and very little jealousy... but I'm new to Renderosity, so what do I know...? I'm not new to art though and I know there will always be 'Art Jealousy', that's a fact! Art is... and always will be... a struggle. Your picture today is excellent... the composition is fantastic, as is the sense of depth! The colour palette is extremely beautiful.... Most of all though, I think it's a 'good picture' because 'I like it' and I'm sure many others like it too... in some ways there is no other criterior.

This is outstanding, beautiful and unique Marlene. You did a great job. Really one of your best. Dave mentioned about the idiot with poor taste in art. Don't ever let someone that low, cause you to take away our enjoyment of your art. It's too bad that we can't all vote that rotten person out of our Rosity Community for good. Huggs... Silkylady...

Wonderful work on the atmosphere, your line of site allows for your lake to show good reflection & ripple action...The other thing I would like to mention is your dedication to the Bryce program, it takes allot of love and patience to go through the renders & so on...Photostar helped me last week calm down after I got myself upset over other artist being messed with...He is a kind soul and he is correct, there are some wonderful people here...Be well & it is nice to view your work...

Marlene my dear friend I am so thrilled to see this beautiful image and in a way it is a sign of your triumph over this situation. If you had indeed closed your gallery and deleted Bryce you would have in effect taken away a wonderful treasure of images and beauty that we all enjoy.

Marlene, hon, don't let that so-and-so get to you! Your artwork is just fine, as you've proven again with this piece! It's lovely, and very well done, and you've no need to feel as though your art isn't good enough! Some people are just like that, unfortunately, and who knows--maybe that person is actually jealous (now there's something to think about, eh?) You've got friends here, and real admirers of your art, and that's how it will stay. It's obvious that the other person has some serious issues, and you just need to remember who you are, and how many people here care about you, and KNOW you're a good artist! This is the first that I've heard of it, but then, I don't get around to the other galleries all that much, I'm so busy in the fractal gallery. I am quite sorry to hear that such a thing happened on this site--I would have hoped for better out of each member here, since we're all in the same boat, having our art reviewed by so many folks. Art is a very subjective thing, but there's simply no need for anyone to attack another person, period. Myself, I go by the old standby rule of thumb that says, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!". No one will like every piece that another person does, but it would behoove us all to remember how we ourselves would like to be treated, and then treat everyone around us just as well. Please don't ever leave, or delete your gallery, hon--it's a sure bet that many of us would be very, very sorry to see that happen! You just keep going, and keep making your wonderful art---let the discontented so-and-sos of this world be discontented on their own time, and don't let their stinking attitude get to you. Hugs to you, hon--many hugs! Daff

great image, remember your own opinion is most important, if you feel its worth showing, it simply is. If people add stupid comments its probably because they feel threatened by your talent, look at it as an compliment in disguise ;) keep on rendering.

There is something very soft and appeasing about this image. I like your choice of soft colors, and the gentle mist giving way to what I hope will be a wonderful day. I can't remember how I first happened onto your gallery but I remember the very first image I saw bowled me over and went straight into my favorites. You are a good artist, Marlene. But perhaps more importantly, you enjoy your work and there are many people who enjoy looking at your work. It's really that simple. So if you ever find yourself doubting, remember all of us who would be somewhat diminished by not having your pictures to look at anymore.

A wonderful image. Excellent perspective and fantastic mood. A superb composition. Don't worry about the comment of one person. there are so many fools all over the world which have fun to mob other poeple. Just ignore him. I like very much what you do with Bryce and I admire your creativity. :)
