Description

The reservoir, opened in 1962, covered the town of Sant RomÃ� of Sau ( Catalonia ), the remains of which, especially the bell tower of the temple are visible when the water level is low even in times of prolonged drought the town is left uncovered and it is possible to visit the town and the cementery you see in this photo Thanks. Great B/W capture and interesting shot to see these remains of the buildings and walls that reveal themselves during dry times. A good few years back during drought they showed on TV. ruins of an old village complete with a little humpback bridge which should have been covered high above with water from a reservoir. Excellent capture.

A sad story to accompany this excellent capture Tony, the sky looks very dramatic, I hope it spilled some rain for you. The worlds weather has gone crazy, or is it just communication has got better, and we get to hear more news. For whatever reason I hate to see dried up rivers and reservoirs, water is a necessary item for life and the water companies should do more to ensure we do not run out of it. I have seen reservoirs empty and in the bottom is twenty to thirty feet of silt, if that silt was removed the reservoir would hold a lot more water. Rant over. Excellent capture, full of atmosphere, interesting and informative. Bravo!!!!!
