Description

"My grandfather always said that living is like licking honey off a thorn." ~ Louis Adamic

No suprise here, some ants found the honey on the tree and a feast ensued. I kept it large so you could see the detail better. Still though, it is a cropped photo and reduced 50% from the original size. I also rotated it 90˚ counter clock-wise. BTW, these ants are between 2-3 millimeteres in length. :o) My thanks to cfulton for inspiring me with his impressive "High on Sugar" photograph. -----

Sticky is as sticky does! This is an excellent macro. Nothing like a busy little group of ants to keep one fascinated with nature.

They look so normal, but we don`t register them because they are so small..... What a great snapshot! Suddenly they awake to life, and we can see, what they are really do. Absolutely fascinating to see them standing in a row and licking some goods... Thanks for sharing.

Superb macro and the hint of colour really makes the honey a star ! Lucky they weren't jumping ants, otherwise you would have needed a zoom lens ! ~Cheers~

Highly socialized ants, which I'm in constant battle with in my condominium, following their instincts, sopping up the sweet stuff. Great POV, textures and lighting mood effect in this snap, old buddy! Incidentally, I like your profound Adamic quote, which I'll use at my next family gathering.
