Description
Taken in Chattanooga, Tennessee
Ok this is just because I loved hearing your singing yesterday.. and I want Mick to join in and sing along..
A little history:
Today, one of the original trains has pride of place in Chattanooga's former Terminal Station. Once owned and operated by the Southern Railway, the station was saved from demolition after the withdrawal of passenger rail service in the early 1970s, and it is now part of a 30-acre resort complex, including the Choo-Choo Holiday Inn and numerous historical railway exhibits. Hotel guests can stay in half of a restored passenger railway car. Dining at the complex includes the Gardens restaurant in the Terminal Station itself, The Station House (which is housed in a former baggage storage) and the "Dinner in the Diner" which is the complex's fine dining venue, housed in a restored 1940s dining car. The city's other historic station, Union Station, parts of which predated the Civil War, was demolished in 1973; its site is now a large office building. In addition to the railroad exhibits at "the Choo Choo", there are further exhibits at Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, which is in the suburb of East Chattanooga. I copied that all from Wikipedia.. Hope you like. Have a great day !

Well thank you kindly Ma'am, I feel honoured at this dedication, and seeing as Mick thinks I stole his thunder, I don't mind in the least sharing it with him. Thanks for the link, I got the music to sing along to now, although I think it's a later version, not the Glen Miller Band. Excellent capture and thanks for the information, I love a good narrative. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Beautiful! ( I never thought I'd say that about a train!)

"For the lack of a horse a kingdom was lost." Just thinking about how Norfolk and Southern got together. Robert the Bruce was my guide to a doorway of Scruples Restaurant next to the Southern railway offices in Washington, DC. Scruples was the passion of Therese of Liseaux the only woman canonized as a doctor of the church. I've never seen the El in Chicago but I did drive under the elevated in NYC and noted for posterity I was at Southern and Interval.

Very colorful photo and close up view. Next tell please tell us the class of locomotive. Some of us love the engines. We sport out own "Choo Choo" but it is still a narrow gauge and fell into disuse after rain damage to the lines.
