Description


There are over 2000 species of Catfish. They live in lakes and rivers. They feed on frogs,insects,and other fish. They like eating at nighttime. Their average weight is averaged 2 pounds. Catfish have no scales or teeth.

They don't have teath David but they can hurt like hell when they clamp down on your hand. They have a very coarse mouth, a bit like rough sandpaper, most people use gloves when handling them as they can soon rub through the skin. Difficult to capture through the glass, so you didn't do too bad. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

In the southern US, they can be found at sizes over 50Lbs.. We have a small variety where I live called Bullheads. Great eating.. not easy to skin.. The bigger ones are a lot of fun to catch..they put up a great fight..
