Oil on Wood. I wanted to create a picture that used colors and moods in much the same style as Franz Marc. I chose the ram just as a subject matter, it had no particular purpose at the time. The first thing I did was paint it red. I was told by many, it looked like a skinned sheep, lol. I thought that I had ruined it but decided to keep going anyway. Choosing the yellows, oranges, and dark blue-blacks gave my skinned sheep a devil appearance. I wasn't sure how I would manage a good background for it but as I painted....well you can see the result. I am superbly happy with the end results and this is among my favorite paintings.
