Description

I went to a seminar at a community college a while ago where we learned the art of Sumi-E painting. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. When painting you must use your whole upper body to paint, not just the wrist or arm; so it can get frustrating not being able to put your arms on the table! Also, if you mess up, you pretty much have to start over again because you CANNOT go back and fix it. Its all about the shape the object takes, not about the structure of the object, which we are all used to seeing. The object you are painting must be painted in the same way it appears in nature. IE a bamboo plant shoots up towards the sunlight, thus, you must paint it the same way. You would move your whole arm from the bottom to the top as though reaching for sunlight. Thanks for viewing ^_^ ~N_I
