Description
A rendering of the Earth, Moon, and Sun. Much like my earlier "Solar", but much more advanced. Took 4 weeks to create with 3ds Max. The star map is a texture I created by inputting star data so all the constellations are exact. Thanks for viewing and please rate.

Hi Chad, Great work, also saw your "Solar" piece. I think the lighting in "-Realm" is a great improvement on "Solar", however, there still needs to be some tweaking. Although the Sun acts like a point source of light, the Earth/moon span such a tiny angle from the sun that the rays that actually hit the Earth/moon can be considered to be practicaly parallel. Therefore, the terminator (edge of shadow) on your Earth/moon should the same diameter as the Earth/moon. In your image, this means either moving your point light source to an acurate scale distance from the Earth (cumbersome) or replacing it with a directional light. Don't know if I explained it too well, hope it helps. If I've only confused, email me and I'll get you a diagram. Regards, -E

This is stunning. Efan is right about the shadows but other than that, WOW! Very nice!
