Description
A hammership sials by the asteroids that make up the ring surrounding a planet...the ship heads towards the rising of the twin suns.
I had this scene made up some weeks ago, just waiitng for the ship to be made ;)
Iuased a trick of putting the camera VERY high in the air (10km) then set Aerial Perspective to 10, giving a look as of 100km high. This trick was discovered by someone on the forums, forgot who, sorry! and then was in 3D world Magazine.
2 years or os ago, when Vue5 Infinite came out, someone else came up with using rocks ot make a planetary ring.
The technique I used here, is similar. I took a flat outer surface off a cylinder in Rhino, brought it into Vue, flattened it down a bit, stretched it long, and set an ecosystem of rocks on top. Positioned and scaled to fit, making it seem like the rocks follow the planet's curve...both an illusion.
Ship is based on the Spelljammer setting for Dungeons and Dragons, *fantasy* space :)
