Description
Going to take you on a little tour of Tennessee, no plane tickets,no checking through luggage for 3 ounce bottles of shampoos, or being made to throw out your water bottle because it might be a potentially dangerous item, and no $3.19 a gallon for gas (price here today) .. just some good walking shoes.. LOL ..
This is a restaurant in Chattanooga called the Pickle Barrel, cute place, inside there is a spiral stair case that leads up to the second level and is a nice place to sit and dine, and take in the scenery.
HISTORY:
Constructed in 1893 as administrative offices for Southern Railway, this building was known as the Southern Express Company Building for many years, until it was converted to a hotel and renamed the Plaza Hotel. Currently housing the Pickle Barrel restaurant, the building’s triangular shape is accentuated by traditional features of Victorian commercial architecture, such as cast iron columns, stone lintels, decorative brickwork and a bracketed and projecting cornice.

When i saw it.. I quessed it's age and was right.. Love the architecture of that time.. Just before Art Nouveau came to the world the trees in front of it match perfectly

Thanks for your historical information - and for sharing this pic with us, of course... Looks great! I´m thinking at the Flat Iron in NY in this moment...This building looks like the younger brother..... Wonderful!

This is a fantastic shot that makes me feel all nostalgic and homesick. All of that aside though, this is a fantastic image. I love the sense of color and your POV. Great work and I'm glad I saw it.

This is probably my favorite of your pics. The angle is very well chosen, the combination of the building and the trees is very original, colours are beautiful
