A bit of ozone from the DC magneto internal sparking of brushes. I was past that with AC dynamos even on my Norton P-11. Jack Simmons offered me an early Lucas as he had on his race bike then thought better of it. In the Mojave on a cold, wet morning at altitude when I had a 375cc single sometimes I wished I had made that choice. Nah!! I would have been kicking in dismay with nothing lit. Oil dripping on terminals with a little condensation encourages one to open the cap and then, yoicks! oil drips right on one of the point contacts!! Now a feeler guage is not enough.
