Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. I took a day off from construction on my house today and wandered around with my camera for a while. Unfortunately, I could not catch up with the Dragonfly I have seen for the past few days nor anything else that seemed willing to let me get a shot. Therefore, I am posting this image from last October. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Stupendous detail on a bug that has little to distinguish itself. Wow.

As PJ pointed out, this bug hasn't got much as colour goes, but you are the master at these bug macro's, incredible detail. Well done!

Correct me if I am wrong Lee, as I forget my natural history lessons from school, the shell that covers the gossamer wings is a carapace I think? It does look very short compared to the length of the body. I find it hard to visualise this beetle flying, the shortness of the wings being unable to lift that huge body of the ground. It certainly looks like heavy armour it is sporting, and as usual a fantastic detailed macro from yourself. Also a fantastic texture along the whole of the litle critter. Superb work. I believe even in prison you are allowed a day of. Bravo!!!!!
