Description

Thought I'd post my entry into Bryce Forum Challenge'Extreme Heat or Cold"...it took a while to finish it to where it resembled what was in my mind's eye. When the challenge was announced I immediately thought of lava and the extreme heat associated with it,so my image portrays a scene during the formation of a planet, lava flows constantly building up the landscape and then carving it into new shapes with each eruption. The scene becomes more dramatic at night, and so that is the setting for this image. All the terrains and rock formations were created in the terrain editor, the formations and distant hills rendered in a phototexture from cgtextures.com.The lava flows are a bryce preset. Two radial lights were used, one under the foreground lava flow(which I made slightly transparent to allow light to pass through).Postwork in photoshop involved signature and glow effect to lava texture. Thanks for viewing and all your previous comments!

It sure reminds me of a picture my wife took of the lava burning some plant life. Excellent work and job. Aloha
