Description

Well, yesterday I received my new lens in the post, the Canon 50mm f/1.8, and eagerly nipped out to see how it performed. This was among the first few shots I took down near the harbour and though it provides a slightly narrower view than my kit lens I was impressed with the image quality and could always stitch photos together if needs be. I'd be interested to know if people think I've gone a bit over the top with the processing or whether this style works for this shot... I guess it might come down to personal preference whether you like HDR or not but all opinions are welcome =). In the distance once again is St Andrews castle, just taken from afar this time...

Oh the colors may be a little "too" but then it creates a very pleasant effect. I particularly like the metallic sheen added to the water reflection. In that case I'd think it is a very good photograph if it pleases. Good luck with your new lens. ;)

I find this quite fascinating. I find myself looking at that rock-face and the different "blocks" of color and texture. I find this very pleasing but I also think it would be just as good in a different way without this application.
