Description
Hello all.....
Been working on this for some time now. The main terrain, tree trunks, and the building were all modeled in Silo. The rest is all modified Vue vegetation. There some 20 billion polygons in this scene (though most are hidden, really).
Hlaurren translates roughly to monastery. This particular monastery is, as you can see, very difficult to find and then, having found, to actually reach. But that, of course, is it's purpose. It is both pilgrimage and test, and those few who have reached it are transformed, to say the least.

And Jeremy, I really hope you like this one! While I was doing it I kept thinking about you and all the comments and critiques you give me, for which I am very thankful. That's part of the reason I put in a little bit of a story.
And also, as always, to my dad, without whom none of this would be possible. I know I've said it before but I don't think you know how gratefuly I am that you casually mentioned how I might (!!) find some use of a program called Bryce.....

This is splendid! I love the trees :) It reminds me of The Little Prince by Saint-Exupery, with his little planet and the tree that takes the whole planet :)

Wow, this is one of your best. Love the tininess of the hlaurren in the middle of all that hugeness. Love the perspective. Love how it all tunnels down straight into that one little window. The trees with their grasping roots are like life's fragility and its persistence. And there in the center of the struggle is enlightenment. Beautiful landscape and lovely little bit of architecture. Great atmosphere and coloration. Love how the sun is just out of view. Pretty breathtaking.
