We all started sometime and we all thought our stuff sucked (I still cringe from time to time). I'd suggest the next thing to try with this render is to figure out how to apply the green and blue glows to the surface of your planets. Hang in there, keep working at it and you'll be surprised how quickly your stuff will start making you happy!
