Description

I made it back just a few minutes ago and this actually is from my previous trip to Utah. I returned again this week and took gigs worth of pictures of all kinds of things. I will try and catch up on viewing and commenting

Good to have you back Richard and can't wait to see photos from this most recent trip also. I think MrsLubner's comments were so great about you obviously standing in the middle of the road to get this shot despite the no pedestrian sign. I'm sure you've taken a lot bigger risks for other photos knowing you.

The color of the rocks are just magnificent. It beats me how these tunnels were built when man had the minimum of the tools available today.

Whats really fun about this photo is what we were taught as children. Remember the old reel to reel productions in the cafeteria? I remember watching news reels about how they dug these out with there hands and some dynamite...LOL Super shot Richard! [=

Well first off welcome back Richard, you have been missed I assure you. Fantastic pov, the road must vere left or right at the other end as it looks like solid rock and the sun seems brighter on that side as well. Love the colour and the formation of the rock here, it must have been hard work when it was built. The smothness of the inner walls as opposed to the outside is super, it must have taken ages with a pick, shovel and a rock hammer. lol. I have nothing but admiration for the workers that did this and countless others. Superb work, look farward to more from this trip. Bravo!!!!!

Nice shot. Your picture makes the tunnel longer than it is. I have driven through that a few times myself!
