Description
a very affluent community between Lake Mead and Las Vegas.this is at the entrance.they have their own lake and million dollar homes and condos.a small mall and a casino of course
I will try and catch up as I am able on viewing galleries.I done a lot of hiking in the mountains and to tell the truth I am worn out, mostly because of being screwed up on time difference

Cool, their own lake and it has a beautiful entrance for sure. Really lovely area and hope to see more from it although I am sure they probably are not too thrilled with someone taking photos considering the area you are in. Now take a rest, it sounds like you deserve one Richard.

This is a very nice capture of the way of life in some Nevada communities. I worked for over 20 years with the Arizona Department of Water Resources and it pains me to see water being used in this way. There is an adjudication of water rights underway in Arizona and has been for over 30 years. When filing claims with the court claimants are asked to list their water source(s), means of conveyance, and place of use. The assumption always is that water is put to use beneficially. Which is more of a beneficial use, growing cotton for instance, or living in multi-milllion dollar homes with lush lawns, waterfalls, and perfectly manicured golf courses? Water is a very precious resource, and the Colorado River is most adjudicated river in the world. Every drop of water is spoken for.

The thing that bothers me about Las Vegas is that so much of it is just not real. That's not to say it doesn't have its beauty, its just not real. Fabulous capture, Richard. Looks like a very lovely place.
