Description
A quickie I rendered for Davo's pulp cover contest over at *cough*. I really liked how it turned out, both before and after postwork (especially after).
Sure, when you hear pulp cover, you may think of barechested hunks with space helmets, octopus tentacles wrapping around the leg of a damsel in distress, ray guns, flying saucers and the like, but I went back a little further to look at some of the magazines from the 20's and 30's. There's some fantastic stuff to be found there, ranging from riqsue pin-ups (well, for the time) to full blown scenes. I recommend checking out the covers from Film Fun, most of which were done by Enoch Bolles (which was the main inspiration for this piece) and The Argosy. Great stuff!
I only hope that this render does the work of decades past some justice.

when I hear pulp I think of pulp fiction,although I doubt if I ever read any.she is very beautiful and quite sensual

A fun little pulp cover, I like. I avoided the contest myself, partly because my processor died and I still have to build a new system, but also because I got the impression that since it was by Davo, and at cough, I'd need to post an XXXX pic just to get noticed. Tentacles up the wazoo indeed!
Revelation-23
I didn't expect anything of it. It was something to do, though I didn't quite get what I wanted done. I had something in mind that was more along the lines of sci-fi (without involving anything explicit or questionable), but I couldn't get it rendered. Still, I got something I was happy with in the end, so it was worth tackling.
