Description

Just captured this one on Sunday in Carbondale Pennsylvania - the place where all those chicory flower photos came from. Everything there is still dead and brown but if you look towards the tree tops you can see some buds just waiting to spring to life any day now...I hope :) But until then I am happy to work with the brown, gold, and blue color palette. Here I was experimenting again with the Lensbaby and the star aperture piece. Although the focus is on the stem instead of the flowers I still liked the way it looks because of the background which reminds me of a firework celebration for some reason. Depth of field is extremely shallow so if the wind blows you can find a different part of your photo in focus that what you had planned (that's what happened here). But it's the softness and blur that I bought the Lensbaby for and I'm loving the effects that I can render with it. I do bring all my lenses with me on my photo adventures so there will usually be a "straight" shot taken as well. As this image is so fresh it still hard for me to get an objective eye on it so I am really curious to know if you think this one works or not. Ok, I'm ready now and I am bracing myself for any comments on this one...... Thanks for viewing! :)

I grew up about 20 miles from Carbondale, not that that has any relevance LOL. I really like this; the stars in the background are especially interesting.

Like what you done here. Who know who is a lensbaby work will appreciate a beauty and creativity of this kind of shots. I do like it a lot and I don't mind at all a very shallow DOF. This is a whole idea about the lens. Keep going, it is a fine art.
