Description

Cuchulainn was an ancient Celtic hero. Many legends surround him, one of the most well-known being the attack on him by the Goddess, Morrigan, after he turns down her affection, not realizing she is a goddess. She attacked him at a ford (creek) 3 different times, in the guises of an eel, a wolf, and a heifer. He defeated her all three times. Another story surrounding this hero is of his love of an Irish sea goddess by the name of Fand. It is said that after helping defend her against three Formorians, the two fall in love. It is a love that doesn't last, as after Fand sees how jealous Cuchulainn's former lover is, she leaves him and goes back to her husband, Manannan mac Lir, the Irish God of the Other World.
