I was trying to think of a name for this fire hydrant when my son Josh told me that he looks like a cartoon called bob the builder so bob it is. I hope everyone likes bob. Lizzi...

OMG, if this opens the way to fire hydrant photos, then I've got about fifty of them sitting in my database, all set to go. That said, Bob the Builder looks awfully lonesome out there, with no one to talk to. Nice POV, colors, textures and lighting in this shot, Miss Lizzzi!

Orthodoxy is a genuine value in art. Another artist once made a hydrant with square brass wrench points and tried to convince me it was a matter of art to not have pentagonal. I insisted that was far too manipulative and labor intensive. Such art must be as is where is. Painting a fire hydrant in an unsual way was a Diggers Haight-Asbury thing.
