Description

Below you will find an image I created some time back and posted at deviantart. I use a different screen name there but I am still me. My friend Gina has been on my mind a lot. Some of the things that D.C. Montery (Dirk) has said makes me think of Gina and others who wrestle with terminal diseases. So I am posting the image and the text that I wrote with it. As many of you know, my friend Gina passed away this past year from breast cancer. She was 33 years old. Her birthday was December 30th, and she has been on my mind, and in my heart. I have been wanting to create an image as a tribute to her. I have worked for the better part of 2 days and one night to create this. It is exactly as I wanted it to be. She was an amazing young woman. Married, with 2 little girls under the age of 10 years of age. She was a 'cowgirl'. She loved to ride horses and to rope. Gina also had a fine appreciation for cowboys with a "Wrangler Ass". Many times I feel she is close, perhaps because she is on my mind so much, I don't know. My daughter and I speak of her a lot, and laugh, and cry sometimes. Gina loved life. She lived it. So, when I found this little poem, quite by accident, it made me think of her so strongly, I am including it here. It didn't even have a title. The poet's name is Robert Service Yes, I am one with all I see. With wind and wave, with pine and palm; Their very elements in me Are fused to make me what I am. Through me their common life-stream flows, And when I yield this human breath, In leaf and blossom, bud and rose, Live on I will … There is no Death. Happy Trails

Leanndra - this is the impression I got from your stunning tribute to you friend Gina. Chin up and know she's still there! Hugs, Sue. I will go fighting! *** This life, The one given By the Giver Is mine to enjoy, to rejoice. And full is the word I will use to live it! To feel the wind be my hairdresser The horse beneath, my treadmill. No artifical way of living. So when I'm told That death comes soon I will raise my chin high Face forward and fight for every day, hour and minute of sunlight of joy of love. I will go fighting for every breath and after.....? I will be waiting with the same joyful smile As you enter the Gates too....
