Description

I've been trying to capture the lighting accompanying this springs storms, but when I do get a shot the ground is all blurry. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can correct this?

That shot isn't all that bad, first be very careful; shoot from in a car which is grounded by the tires. Remember lighting can run to your tripod if that's what your using.

No suggestions; you caught this perfectly, the lightning is crystal clear and I think that's the best part!!

I agree, the lightning is the focus, you don't want to distract the eye with anything else. And very well captured here!

Splendid shot and it looks great as is. Personally, lightning really frightens me, first sound of thunder and I'm inside!

Wow. I think this is a great capture, regardless... I'm not sure whether or not I'd even want to take this risk.... when I look at this photograph, I seem to somehow see a rainbow--- most mysterious, and ever so beautiful. The colours that seem to build upon layer after layer in the sky is remarkable, with a most lovely depth.... a truly lovely moment that you have captured!

Not to worry I am in my house looking out an unscreened window I'm not standing outside with a tripod.

Wow, this is a very good photo and I agree with many that the lightning is the focus. I usually use a tripod and shoot when it is pitch black - but take the warnings about the danger. Again, you did a wonderful job with this one - Congratulations!

Great capture! Focus into the ground, or to a tree, in the distance -- then, raise your camera and wait for the lightning to strike. The lightning should come out crisp despite focusing on something else. Have Fun!

You have captured this lightening perfectly!! I know that my partner has a problem when taking photos of clouds sometimes in that his camera does not recognise what it is to focus on but your camera seems to have done that this time so whatever you are doing you are doing right. I have yet to venture into the world of taking photographs of cloud formations, lightning etc..

I have no idea on how to solve the blurriness problem, but this is an amazing shot!
