Description

TMFV Page 035. All the paranoid propaganda from the fifties is what made those classic SciFi films so good! Patriotic and reassuring to American values. Of course, films to the contrary were not well received at that time. Nor did they ever make any money, then. And in the final analysis, that was the whole idea of the business. Enjoy the day! AAhh the tension mounts, I hadn’t realized that those old movies flopped yet we still watch them, bit like the Wizard of Oz is was a bit of a dud at the time. Nice cliff hanger.

These characters are brilliant. I especially love the guy with his hands up. He's a good contrast to the others. This comic strip is wonderful. So beautifully constructed, well written, and a lot of fun.

Brilliant page. Not only portrays the zeitgeist of Mid-20th Century, but very reflective of our times as well (i.e. substitute "terrorist"). Although Tor may have fried and the teens may be mutating, the saucer appears completely intact. So for the time being, let's just call it, "Mission Accomplished?"

I like the presentation of this page. It's clean not cluttered and to the point. The attention to detail in the first frame is tops! Light reflecting off the wing, the ground below and the exhaust from the engines.. Minor things that make a major impact! Bravo Rich! Enjoy your days! Kev

I'll tell ya what's happening to the teenagers... Bondage is locking them up in some type of choker chain - LOL... I'm going against my own plans, I told myself I wouldn't view any pictures on Rendo at the library... I had to see if you got to image 100 yet... nope... and you're still behind me? What's up with that - LOL... I may have my computer up and running, I may have the net back in 6 days... The race to 100 is back on... If I win, maybe Betty Boop will have to be in it somehow - LOL... Tell everyone hi for me, I miss this place.... Your comic is comming around nicely... I hope after you cross 100 we'll be seeing some of you colorful images too. Your art rocks!

That flag background in the second panel is perfect great dialog and classic saluting pose. The only problem is eagerly waiting to see what happens to those teens!

The tension builds, and what will happen next? Great work on the compulsory 'propaganda speech'.. The salute and flag in the background is just perfect. Excellent work!

Truly wonderful in many respects: — the way the page is cut makes a difference with the previous one, and this is right because now we are in a new tempo: excellent! — I agree completely with what you said underneath. I add that here you have taken a courageous opinion. May I add a personal comment: 10 years ago I was asked to do an educational comics around nuclear energy. The heroin of this comic was my current heroin, Silvia. I was not then the illustrator, it was a young professional, Thierry Demarez, who drew many beautiful pages. The sponsor was french electricity (governmental), together with a science publisher. The comic album talked about many aspects but we had also to speak about the launch of atomic bombs at the end ow WW 2. This was done in an extremely realistic way by T. Demarez. Silvia appeared very shocked by the pictures and began to weep about these events. The science publisher refused the project and said, strangely, that maybe it could be accepted if the heroin was not an "exotic" person (Silvia is Asiatic) but a Caucasian one, and the french electricity, strangely, suddenly said that they could find no money for the comics… I have completely turned the project and it will be now a very violent hijacking adventure. Old and sometimes criminal ideas find new support too often.

The possibility of being blacklisted might have had something to do with it as well... As the song went, "Smoke 'em out Joe, smoke 'em out Joe, send them all back to icy Moscow!" Seriously though, I love this one, the propaganda bits especially (Alert today, alive tomorrow!).

Excellent work in crafting this story with the fantastic visuals! I like how you leave us in suspense at the end...wondering what type of trasformation the teenagers are morphing into!
