Description

Ive had this little Siamese for 11 years and love him to pieces and in June he was diagnosed with Diabetes ..having insuln shots twice a day .. by December with a strict diet and lots of love ..he is off his insulin and doing just great ...I hope it continues.. I must say that I went against the vets orders of what food to give him and went with experienced Diabetic kittie owners( from a Diabetic kitty site on here ) that got their cats regulated for years now ... its a low carbo and high protein diet ..low glycemic cat food which is Wellness ( and certain Fancy Feast not all ) and NO dry food ..there is a vet on that site as well and she was there to help and explain things ..so hopefully he will be ok .. Im not saying that it will last but hes sure is much better ..no insulin and very healthy ..regular blood sugar count what it should be every day .. I still check him for that .. I do give all my cats some dry food but its also Wellness and it has no Wheat Gluten high protein low glycemic ... they only get it very little ... so if anyone has a Diabetic cat ..this may help you ... I told one of my friends and she tried it ..her cat got better as well ...

A beautiful Siamese with those luscious crossed blue eyes. Dealing with diabetes in pets is difficult. I'm glad you found a way to treat Marz without the shots.

What a cute kittie. My mom's cat has diabetes also. She took her off dry cat food, and she's doing better also. Great capture of this wonderful looking cat.

Oh he is so adorable in this great shot, I love the way the vibrant blue background matches his beautiful eyes! I am so happy that you have turned it all around by you taking such special care of him. Thank you for your advice, it is always useful to know about these things. hugs Jane xx

This is a gorgeous cat! I love the Siamese. That is wonderful that you took the time to get the diet straightened out so that he could go off the insulin. That says a lot against commercial dry food for cats, or maybe all of it. With that melamine scare not so long ago, I am feeding more boiled chicken to my cats now to supplement their diet.

Your cat is so adorable and the words you use to relate to us the trouble you went through because he'd caught diabetes, are really touching, and point to your motherly care for him. A great feeling for me to see that in a human's heart and soul.

He's absolutely gorgeous and precious! I have 4 adorable kitties, three of them are getting up there in age and are all healthy so far. But I'll keep this in mind if they ever run into health issues. Thanks!
