Description
* The God of Light, Goodness, Purity and of Beauty. Second son of Odin and Frigg. His main aspects are : Tolerance, peaceably and love. In Iceland many flowers are still called : Baldr`s Eyelashes.
Baldr one day dreamed of his own death. Since dreams were usually of prophetic nature, this one depressed him and he turned to his mother Frigg for help. She made every being and object on earth vow never to hurt Baldr. All made this vow, except the mistletow. Frigg had thought it too unimportant to bother asking it to also make the vow.
When Loki found out about this, he made a magical spear from this plant. He went to the place where the gods, making fun hurling objects at Baldr which would bounce off without harming him. Loki gave the spear to the blind God Hoor, Baldr`s brother, who then inadvertenly killed his own brother with it.
Baldr was ceremonially burned upon his ship Hringhorni, the largest of all ships.
Hermodr, another of Baldr`s brothers rode nine nights through dark dales to the realm of Hel to beg her for Baldr`s release. Hel agreed, but only if every being in the world would cry over his death. The Aesir were sending out Herolds to all directions and convinced even stones and metals to cry for Baldr, except for one giantess.
When the gods discovered that this giantess had been Loki in disguise, they hunted him down and bound him to three rocks. Then they tied a serpent above him, the venom of which dripped onto his face.
Baldr had to remain in the underworld, not to emerge until after Ragnarok, when he and his brother Hoor would be reconciled and rule the new earth together with the sons of Thor.

Beautiful image! I'm loving the harp. The glowy eyes just make that pop. :-)One thing though: You might darken the eye holes and underside of the helmet a bit. It kind of looks like light is passing through the top of it.
