Having trouble with the lighting, and need something in the background I think

I love it but you are right it does need something, the lighting now gives the impression of a beautiful misty morning, so maybe a little darker sky??? with a few soft yellows and reds in it??? will enhance that effect maybe..Lol..K

But I happen to love the lighting/atmosphere here! and about the back ground...hmmm just an idea...how about a mountain range [terrain] set way way far away, populated with a fairly medium eco-sys? I find my self doing that often to fill in my artworks hehe! I love this one though! and them sentries I do trust to protect us :-) hugsssss

I think it looks great as is. When talking about the background though, I like the minimalism approach. What Mad-Mike suggested would work too though.

NO, it needs nothing I would say. Lighting is perfect. Just shift the big background tree to the left a bit more to the center and then it is perfect. Render it in superior or ultra and you have a winner I would say! Congrats to this!

I think it looks great the way it is. You might need to dim the light a bit, but other than that it's perfect :D

For me it’s okay. If you fill it up you lose your “look trough” and depth. Beautiful artwork!

This is really lovely. Maybe an additional light source to give a few more defined shadows but perfectly pretty as it is :)

I have to agree with Trepz, the lack of shadows makes it look like a painting, but that may be exactly the effect you are after, if it is then do nothing, if not then harden the shadows a bit!! I like dogs so this is Pretty work!!!

Great work on the lighting! I don't think you need any extra background. To me the bright light is very effective and in a real world situation you wouldn't look directly at the sun anyway.
