Description

No one really knows where it came from or when it first appeared, but this space anomaly has been a part of the history of the region since space travel was first made possible. Situated on the outskirts of both Empires, The Goo-Lay Artifact is a mystery so deep that odds makers on both sides have no idea what it represents or why it is even here. All that people know that it is wondrous and dangerous at the same time. When first discovered, it emitted a low, basso profundo hum which disrupted all the circuits on the ships in the area. Once this was protected against, science vessels from a hundred worlds convened on the spot to take readings and try to figure out what the thing is. As yet, after hundreds of years of study, we know very little. The Artifact is 6.5 SP (Standard Planetary) in total diameter, sometimes it shows up on Radar, sometimes it doesn't, it is peaceful in nature but highly defensive (it will allow unarmed ships a close proximity to it, but if a ship has any sort of weaponry on board, that ship is disabled by a different frequency of the basso profundo hum). A popular tourist destination, before, during , and after the Lounge Wars, The Goo-Lay Artifact remains one of the great mysteries of our Galaxy. The Lounge Wars, Chapter 13, The Strange Back in the Lounge, post-show... need to unwind. Dedicated to the memory of Robert Goulet, Entertainment Icon.

A shame the real guy recently passed away. I liked Robert Goulet, especially in the last commercials he was in. Where he was a part of the Goulet effect and would ruin an office cubicle via mischievious acts. A near to real allegorical commentary, this one!
