Description


here they use a trash can for a kiln. They line it with that white stuff. It is heated with gas here. They fire the pottery up then take it out and put stuff on it to burn designs on it. I saw them use a feather and some stuff that made the pattern you see here. They then spay the top with something to change the color. then set aside to cool. I not sure what you call it but it do start with a "R" sorry they told me but I forgot for I can not pronoun it lol. Guess the pottery people out there in RR will know about it

I believe the design is called "Horsehair" and the process is "raku" as koosievantuttle points out. More great "how they do it" shots.

This makes an interesting assemblage of documentary images. I had preferred that you cropped a little the images, so that they had exactly the same dimensions, but I understand that it is not quite simple for some of them. 5+ for the originality of the subject.
