:O Looks familiar, almost like my 3210! Made with NURBS? I still not get into them, as i am oldtimer, a guy whos sticked in mesh geometry, from the ages of max1, and even the old 3ds-for-dos. /i run this on 486, or even less, man these were times :)

Is it just me or is the Blue material not completely solid blue? It almost looks like it's got glitter in the paint, like a hot wheel paint or vehicle paint... how did you do that if you don't mind telling me?

Noise is the anwswer, create a Standard material and set Glossiness and Specular to the required level. Then click the Diffuse Map button and select Noise. In this sub material set Threshold to 0.9 for high, 0.4 for low, this will set the frequency of the glittery bits. Then depending on the size of your model set the size value, in my case it was 0.5. Next set the main colour, the dark blue, then the brighter blue for the glitter beneath it. After that go back up a level to the Standard material and the maps rollout, now copy instances of the Noise material you've created to the Glossiness and Bump maps, setting their values to 40 and 30 repectively. Doing this makes the material catch more light on the glitter and stands out more. Hope this makes sense. This method can be used in so many ways so just experiment with the values...
