Description

Mxygymqx Online is a collaborative effort between the original artist who hand-drew the strip and the digital artist 'Turin_Returns'. The strip was rendered with pen on sepia paper between 1983-1986. In the process of digitally restoring the strip 'Turin_Returns' has endeavoured to remain as true as possible to the tone and 'feeling' of the original drawings. Please take the time to leave a comment. You may request a reply from the artist, the restorer or Mxygymqx himself. ************* Turin_Returns - "I am immensely enjoying this process. Although I like these early strips for their originality and their place within the Mxygymqx mythos, I am eager to restore the later strips which contain more engaging artwork. There is an element of the line of these early pieces though that reminds me of the 'Ligne Claire' style, of which I am quite fond."

What a dark and brooding title frame! I like it Turin! Reminds me a little of the "Ring of Fire" animation I showed you. I'm pleased to see that what are essentially crude biro lines on poor quality paper has transferred so well to the digital realm.

I have spent many grunts scanning pencil lines and chosing between BMP and TIFF then shrinking to disasterous levels to stay in my storage limit, including floppy sizes. Looking at thumbnails made from pencil lines can be discouraging. This all looks as pristine as if such things never happened. Don't ever quit being curious about how the quality disappears.
