Description

On the way back down, looking back up at the Cobbler showing off its winter coat. Jeez that snow was hard work. Yesterday morning was a race up and down the Cobbler as I'd promised to drop my daughter off at a birthday party early afternoon. Last week there was practically no snow left on this hill, so today I was counting on about 2 hours to the top. After about 1/2 an hours trudge up-hill the Cobbler came into view, all white and dangerous looking. I was first up, and the snow had wiped out any trace of the path going up into the corrie. It was deep and soft and difficult to walk on, all full of little snow bridges and hidden holes. 2 and a 1/2 hours later I was still in the Corrie kicking and grunting and cursing the softness of the snow. Now running late, on the way down I dropped off the righthand peak and completely missed the path again, as it was buried in snow. It took me hours to get down through the snow covered boulder fields and meant driving home like a loopy to get Sian to her party on time. Mission accomplished. Pity I hadn't longer as the day turned out to be clear and bright, and there were some wonderful photo ops. I set the camera to B&W for a wee change, I was quite pleased with some of the results. Thanks for viewing

Great shot, Anthony. Take care, even on The Cobbler, my friend. We wouldn't want to lose you. Neither would Sian, the wee darling. I hope that you had your pilot's licence with you, in case a Traffic Officer asked you for it... ;o) Warm regards, John.
